Equal Opportunities

It is the policy of The Olive Tree Centre to deal with all people with whom it comes into contact fairly, respectfully and courteously irrespective of their gender, marital status, disablement, colour, race, nationality, ethnic origin or social background.

In particular :-

  1. In counselling and training, members of all types will be assessed on their achievements, qualifications, experience and their compliance with the “Ethics and Practice” of the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) and should not receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of their gender, marital status, disablement, colour, race, nationality, ethnic origin or social background.
  2. Similarly the selection of staff and volunteers will be based on relevant qualifications, experience and references.  They should not receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of their gender, marital status, disablement, colour, race, nationality, ethnic origin or social background.  Any promotion will be based on merit and ability and The Olive Tree Centre positively encourages further training of staff and volunteers.

Any member of staff or volunteer who does not work within this policy will be subject to disciplinary action.
